"What emerged were 11 songs ranging between folk, singer-songwriter and abstracter sounds, all of which are carried by Case Van Duzer’s precise string and keyboard playing, the equally refined and minimalistic arrangements, and always in the foreground the raw, androgynous voice. It all started with a rental accordion in a two-story apartment building near Culver City, and went downhill from there. "San Francisco was a dark dream filled with anarchist dancers, balloon gorillas, bad disco and junkie babysitters, being woken up in the night by fire, in a homeless lean-to by sunrise, all those earthquakes. I had to leave."
